    Default Saiko slumping and sitting

Bad timing as, by the sound of things, the call-ups to be announced tomorrow might have included him had he continued with his fine early form. Didn't even make the bench vs Minnesota?

Sinkgraven is trying to pull some motivational crap. Saiko's form hasn't been the best in the past few weeks but Sinkgraven's been inexplicably using him as a forward and Shaun's been far from the biggest problem.

It's moronic you don't bench your best player to prove a point, unless that player is putting himself ahead of the team (breaking team rules, partying before game day etc.) My guess is Sinkgraven has lost the room

Watched the second half of the game after the long thunderstorm delay at halftime. Saiko was great after he subbed on in the 2nd half. Sometimes players get complacent and you need to do something to motivate them. I suspect Saiko will be playing very hard for the next few games.

FCE played very well, were equal to San Antonio at even strength and really dominated when SA went down to 10 men. It was too bad they did not manage to get the win. Nice goal by Pinto but he really needed to do better on the chances in the 2nd half. Proctor seems to be a good addition to the team.

^ I'd go further Grizz, as I stayed glued to the dead screen for over two flaming hours....
"The Sake" put two Match winning Passes into the box only for Pinto , Who obviously is missing the Gromit, at this present moment in time* , to miss two glaring sitters, that "me old granny could have wafted in 't goal with 'er pinny"

Game should have finished 3-1 , but hey ho we didn't lose it.

*Anyone who does not get the Pinto/ Gromit reference feel free to follow the link.

Why weren't you at the game getting rained on and nearly killed by lightning?

Love to have been doing the "Gene Kellys" with the boys last night, but a certain little issue called money gets in the way.

Also, Have yet to perfect my lightening bolt shuffle. So I tend to hide in the cupboard with the cat.

There's been some talk on the ESG boards this year saying that Saiko should be playing in MLS. Any thoughts from those who aren't on those boards (ie. Grizzly)?

I haven't seen him enough this year to say. He looked good yesterday but on the other hand he is also coming off a fairly major slump. This is certainly the type of guy we should be expecting our MLS teams to give a chance to but on the other hand he is also under contract to FCE and they can't be expected to give him up for nothing. There have been a lot more NASL players who have done well in MLS than people think but there have been a lot of flops as well. I would hope if he was out of contract that at least one of the three Canadian MLS teams would give him a serious tryout but it might be a lot to expect them to pay what FCE would probably want to give up a key player when it is 50/50 whether he will do well and he hasn't had a great season after the strong start at the beginning of the season. Of course if there was any sort of reasonable Canadian quota for MLS teams they would have a lot more motivation to give guys like Saiko a chance.
