So you do clearly accept some of the criticism is warranted ?
I can remember when a lot of folks on this forum loved Andrea Lombardo.... I went and watched him play live, and wrote I thought he was horrible.... and lots of folks thought I had hate on for him... he drifted out of the National program and out of a pro career after playing in the u20 World Cup... my point is its a site to comment on our National teams and the players ... who are professionals paid to play soccer, give me the arguments you have to say she is great player and when has she showed leadership ?
So you do believe she did not put in a full ninety minutes of quality play against South Africa ?That being said, I will be the first one to say she had an off game in the first half but she eventually excelled in the second half. Yes, Canada should not rely on Sinclair so much but without her, Canada will never be as high ranked as 7th in the world.
I am really not sure what the heck a reference to the Canucks captain ... has to do with anything unless you have hate on for him ?Sinclair is a great leader and captain and she led by example. Contrast that with one H. Sedin, the captain of the Canucks who had never shown the feistyness nor the toughness as Christine Sinclair.
*I did read it .. and it seems Squizz is asking questions and not liking the answers he sees on the pitch ...or am I reading him wrong ?If you need quotes, Squizz started off his article:
"Canada 3 South Africa 0: Breakthrough, or wallpaper over the cracks? with this sentence:At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Christine Sinclair is a remarkable soccer player.
If you haven't read this article, please do.
*But is the 3-0 result a true indication of where Canada sits, or a Big Red herring?
It's no stretch to say that South Africa controlled large portions of the game on Saturday. Canada finally truly found its legs at the 65-minute mark (coincidentally, around the time that South Africa lost theirs), perhaps a testament to the squad's fitness regimen under John Herdman. But with a little bit more luck, South Africa could easily have been level (or even ahead) by that point in the match.

Maybe seeing Canada in action last year in the WWC I got a full dose of her leadership, it was not impressive, she got her nose broken in game one and never should have stepped onto the pitch for game two ... she was incapable of providing on field leadership in that game, and please dont tell me it was not her decision to play or not or that Morace put her on against her wishes, simply put Sinclair knew she was not even fifty percent she should have not played, that would have been leadership.I am not very articulate so please excuse me for this not very coherent post I am just extremely baffled by your grudge against Sinclair and I am irritated by this.
By the way if you wanted to choose a posting name... Sincforpm it pretty much says where your going in terms of looking at a player and her real achievements and a critical analysis of how she plays. Do I think she shoud be team captain, no I dont Matheson is a far better choice in my opinion, is Sinclair creative as a foward or midfielder again I do not see it, does she score goals yes she does against the minnows but rarely when truly needed and I have yet to see her put her mark on a game against a top ten team. Have you seen that ?After what Sinclair has done for Canada, she deserves respect not unjust and unwarranted criticism.
