Default Canadians abroad: July 20-26, 2012

    Guidelines for this thread

    • In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for July 20-26, 2012.

    • If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster.

    • If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here.

    • Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread.

Eintracht Braunschweig and Valencia drew 1-1. Randy came in in the 61st minute, when the score was already 1:1. He had chance shortly before the game was over. North Korean trialist Pak started the game, and all signs point to him being likely signed. This would make it even more likely, that Randy will play mostly on the wings, since there would be 4 centre forwards in the squad (Kumbela, Ademi, Merkel and then Pak).

^ Not a starter in the third tier even? Bummer. Good thing it's a long season.

    Norway

Pozniak may be riding the bench off to the sunset as he was an unused sub again in Haugesund's scoreless draw with Sogndal.

    Finland

Jonke played 90 for Jaro as they were scoreless with VPS

    Singapore

Home United held Webb's Hougang to a 1-1 draw. Webb played 90 but didn't score.

Checked to see why he did not start and the coach said that this year they have 3 good CBs of a similar level and if they are all available he will start whichever two of the three fits better with the style of the opposing team.

Damn was hoping he didn't start because they were simply giving a young guy another look. I agree, doesn't bode well that he can't easily outshine other B3 level players. (At least in his coaches view...through our rose tinted glasses we are all like wtf)

I think it is better they didn't start him because of the coach's reason then giving another young guy a look who might turn out to be a really great player. I think he will get a lot of playing time this year, he started almost every game after joining them last year.

Hopefully, our depth at that position is not that great. A couple injuries and you have to start giving guys like Straith, Cann, Henry, Jakovic looks...we need them playing

Patrick Majcher started on the bench for Slask Wroclaw in a friendly with Benfica (game was on GolTV). Didn't watch long enough to see if he got on the field or not. Not sure if Kreczimski or however you spell his name was dressed either...

    Patrick's twitter feed: https://twitter.com/Patmajcher

Patrick didn't play, unfortunately, given the 30,000 fans and the big name opponent: http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/benfic...3047-1456.html

nice goal from the match in question: http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos...slask-wroclaw/
