    Default Chumiento gone

He's off to FC Zurich. Too bad, I actually liked him offensively, personally...very creative. Not the biggest loss in the world of course, but he was always capable of that one outstanding through pass, if a player makes the right run. Too many teams in the MLS just want to bash into the middle from crosses out wide...again and again and again.

That said he needed to play defense too.

    Was his contract up?

I believe it expired at the end of this season. The Whitecaps received an undisclosed transfer fee.

Wanted to be closer to home, and his sell price was at its highest. A transfer fee would of been needed from my understanding.

It's disheartening to see DC go, but in the end it might be whats best for the club we sell high on a great player. In turn make room for Camilo to get back on the pitch and possibly Tiebert gets more of a look now as well. It also adds the allure of that International spot and Cap Space we have just freed up.

So now back to the task at hand TFC in 10 minutes.

Brought a nice "other dimension" to the league. But yeah, tricky being able to find the right right mix of team-mates for him (least to my mind) for a whole number of reasons not entirely of his own making.

You have to be able to play a certain way in most leagues around the world and MLS is no different. Maybe not the best fit for MLS but I have to say from my limited knowledge of the Swiss league I don't think he's moving from a position of weakness in MLS toward a league which will better suit his strengths.
"Compete" is perhaps too strong a word. "Participate" would be more accurate.

Not sure the fee will be much to write home about. Zurich have already done us two favours in allowing the Rochat and Hassli signings to get done early (albeit, the former was loaned back). This seems to be returning the favour.

Disappointed to see him go, but nice to see now there is more room for Sanvezzo to play (as he did v. TFC), and ideally Teibert. My guess is Hassli is next to go and Sanvezzo moves more central, and as such gives Teibert even more of an opening pending some signings.

Keep in mind Harris may one day be fit and he'll need to step-in somewhere too on the right or central forward spots.

I was a huge fan of Dede and really wished he had been given more of a central attacking mid role....but all is well that ends well I suppose/

Damn shame. Best player for us this year. He really worked the defensive side of the job huge this year. Good luck in Zurich Dede.
