That's a decent source, so its pretty believable.
So it sounds like Di Vaio called Nesta up to convince him.
The article mentions a 1-year deal but I've seen 2-years mentioned on some other Italian soccer news sites.
Fabio Massimo Splendore of Corriere dello Sport is confirming a done deal.

Seems like Wikipedia has it confirmed.............
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alessandro_Nesta
Alessandro Nesta, Ufficiale OMRI[1][2] (born 19 March 1976 in Rome), is an Italian World Cup-winning professional footballer who currently plays for Canadian Montreal Impact. Considered by many as one of the best centre backs to have ever played the game, he is a four-time member of the annual UEFA Team of the Year.[3]
Has anything come from the Montreal FO regarding a press conference any time soon? Could be tough day to announce anything today being holiday Monday. Also, Wikipedia is not a source until an official source has been confirmed.
8-1 And We're Still Here
Montreal confirms it made an offer to Nesta:

This one I think is probably happening. That said, maybe not a bad deal for an expansion team. Get a super experienced guy in there that your defensive line can learn from, and take moving forward. If they are paying him outrageous amounts based on his actual playing ability though, then I think it should be said that MLS teams should look past trying to get guys over the age of 35 in their twilight. They aren't draws to the casual fan, because the casual fan may never have heard of him.
Guys come on. This was LAST YEAR:

Nesta has been in Montreal for the last week or so. They showed some video of him watching the game against TFC with some of the injured players. With Ferrari and Rivas out for another month we definitely need some help at CB.
Geesh if we do sign him and once Ferrari and Rivas are back what a back line! maybe 3 man?
-----------------Ricketts
----------Rivas - Nesta - Ferrari
-------------Warner - Bernier
Arnaud --------------------------Mapp
------------------Felipe
------------Di Vaio - Wenger
What do you guys think ?
