^ I say "for now" regarding Friend, because the same article suggests Rob could be headed to Paderborn to replace a guy named Proschwitz, who Occean's former club Fuerth have signed (or are rumoured to have signed) as a replacement for Occean.
Occean moves to Eintracht Frankfurt, another team that promoted to the 1.Bundesliga this spring.

1.2 million Euro move. This is Rob Friend's club (for now).

Well his situation changes not much in that he's on a team heading to top flight in Germany, you might say?

Have a look at this. Which do you think has the funds to be more likely to stay there? Not a bad move, actually. And they are putting faith into Occean with some of those funds, which says a lot.
Occean could be our only goal scoring chance going forward... we really need him to stay fit and playing regularly in the next few months. I'm not sure if switching clubs at this moment is the best thing for him.
Regardless it is good to know that by scoring a few goals in WCQs over the past year, Occean has proven that he doesn't suffer from the Rob Friend syndrome of only being able to score for your club.
Frankfurt is a fairly large club - hopefully Occean finds himself starting matches and scoring goals. Would go a very long way for Canadian reputations in a league that seems to be pretty good for player development. Germany has comparatively been a 'good place' for Canadians (even when they turn out to be arseholes who want to play for England).
Trying to keep up with the Reds, while following the azulgrana of Buenos Aires.
Eintracht Frankfurt are a much, much bigger club than Greuther Fürth. They've been a yo-yo team the last 10 or 15 years but have never spent more than 2 seasons at a time in the 2. Bundesliga. And prior to last season's relegation, which was the consequence of a disastrous second half of the season, they were in the 1. Bundesliga for close to 10 years. He'll certainly have more competition as a striker but I think it's a positive move. Plus, I'm sure it will involve a higher salary.
As for Rob Friend, is he not a Hertha Berlin player at this time? I'm fairly certain his loan from Hertha to Frankfurt has expired.
It sounds like a good move for OO, like soe have already pointed out EF is a bigger club with more ressource. Let's hope for another great season for OO. He was dominant in B3 and B2, let's hope he can make a similar impact in B1.
I'm guessing Olivier asked for this move, because it would make no sense for Furth to sell their best player for a measly 1.2M Euro as they're promoting to the 1. Bundesliga. Anyways, good luck to him and really hoping he can muscle into the starters role.
"We are back bitches" - Adolf Hitler.
It is likely that he had a buyout clause in his previous contract with Furth of 1.2 million. Overall this is a good move for him because he will have more chance of success playing with a stronger lineup instead of on a team that is just trying to avoid relegation and will play defensively. Of course the downside of this is more competition for playing time.
