Hey guys,
I’m a new member here and this was the first time I attended a NT game for Canada even though I have been following them for a while. First of all I’d like to thank the guy who shipped me the tickets from this site as he made a big effort and got them to me as quickly as possible. I’ve been living in Canada for about 10 years and convinced 14 friends to be there for the game, all of us born in Eastern Europe but each dressed in red. Yeah we are proud of where we come from but we are also proud of the country we’ve spend the last decade of our life in. We will be there for the Cuba and Panama game and hopefully a friendly in between. Personally I’ve been a member of a supporters club in Eastern Europe and have some experience in the stands so it wasn’t hard for me and my brother to adapt the chants, but it would’ve been great if there was chanting done at Maro as most of my other friends didn’t know the song. I was in 116 during the first half and there was really no-one singing so we made our way in 114 in the second half. Met some really good guys in the section, all passionate about Canada and soccer in general. In my opinion, the south end looked good, I wouldn’t expect the average fan who was in 116 to chant for 90 min but hopefully in the future they do get involved in simple chants like Canada Canada etc. My only critiques are the march from Maro to the stadium. I think it should be better organized as at times it was two different groups singing two different songs. Also in the second half when I was in 114 there was times when there was chances in the match and the guys leading the chants would stop and turn their head to the field. They should never turn their back to the match but face the stand at all times as this caused for silence at times in my opinion. As long as you guys chant for 90 min non stop I’m sure the supporter section will one day grow to the whole to 115 116 and the whole south end. Overall we all had an amazing time and can’t wait until next time!! I will try to bring even more people next game. I think we have a really good team and 0-0 yesterday was underachieving….we could’ve done a bit more. Stay ULTRAS!

Where in 116 were you guys? I had a group of 7 in 116 about 3 rows from the top. I think most of us were standing most of the time (two or three may have alternated) and trying to join in on some of the chants, though it seemed we were the first row in the section doing so as everyone in front was sitting. The game was fun, but it sure would have been nice to have had the whole section standing and making an attempt to chant/sing...

Oh we were close then, we were second from the top. Yeah people in the top rows were all standing which was good and some would try to join the 114 sec in the chants but its hard when its scattered, but that is normal for NT games in many countries around the world. Especially since there is few games in one calendar year compared to a club. Yeah that section was fun too, met a few people on the top that were very passionate as well!

Welcome. Great points. The experience at Maro and in the south end is getting better and better but we need perspective like yours to keep that going.
