What bridge? If there is a mean old troll under it, then I m sure not crossing it. I've been to the 'Wack many times, especially when my sister lived there. I suspect you have more than 80,000 cows. Just saying.

Random thing I just remembered. Guatemala looks very likely to advance to the hex, and because of the ridiculous FIFA rankings at the time we could have faced them in our first round against the minnows...

Yep, those rankings are a disaster for the CONCACAF WCQ format.

What the **** is Cuba doing in the top 6? Clearly they don't deserve it and likely would have been 3/4 in the previous round. On the other hand, having Cuba in our group certainly aided us with 6pts and +4GD.

I don't think that Cuba necessarily would have finished 3rd or 4th in the previous round. I mean let's take last night as a write-off for them because of the already weakened squad and then the mass defections, but before that they had held us, Panama and Honduras all to tight games (especially when you consider the 1-0s to Panama and Honduras were away).

You're right though, sixth in the region was definitely not where they should have been either.

Consider that Cuba are now ranked 23rd in CONCACAF, which is where Cayman Islands were when the original pots were set up.

Quite possibly (hopefully) 3 of the original "top 6" might not make it to the "Top 6" (Hex).

It does highlight how ridiculous the qualifying system is not only set up, but how ridiculous it is. No matter what happens after Tuesday, there are going to be some pretty good teams from this region already eliminated from World Cup Qualifying. This is the only region in the world where that happens this early on, this far in advance of the actual World Cup.

Hold your horses. Jamaica have 7 points and Guate have 10. The Guates are playing for their lives in KC against the US while Jamaica gets a chance to pad their GD at home to Antigua. Jamaica currently even on GD and Guate are at +3. If the Guates lose even 1-0 that drops them down to +2 and the ReggaeBoyz only need to win by 3 (or by 2 but scoring at least 4 goals, a 3-1 win sends it to a playoff). of course, if Guate can hold on for a draw then they're through.

Holding on to a draw against this US team doesn't seem out of the question considering recent performances.

If I were the USA, I'd rather see Guatemala than Jamaica in the hex. The Americans will be fine with a tie. It's an ugly setup - we could see something like this:
