Perhaps they are waiting until after tonight's match? With Hutchinson out, maybe it will serve as a good opportunity for Pacheco and/or Piette to get an extended run the second half to see if they pass muster? Then depending on how that goes the SOS call to a veteran like Bernier could then be made? Just speculating (I'm not sure there is a deadline for calling up someone).

As I thought, Hainault in center, Edgar out wide. As I said earlier, this just makes way more sense in terms of how Canada likes to play...still not sure why people thought Edgar would be center, and Hainault out wide...Edgar just way better at ball handling moving up the pitch, despite that Hainault is playing (out of position, IMO) RB at Houston.

A tight, compact midfield threesome supporting the back four, a team that was hard to break down through the centre: that was the usual Hart game plan.

^ Come on, seriously there is no way that would happen.....Why would they let Rob Friend take the penalty.

    two questions -

    1 - @Cujo - which version is that? Fm09 (I had '08 and it looks similar)
2 - Does this result mean Armenia is better than USA??

Really pleased with the guys. They worked very hard and it is an uplifting result. I can't help but feel USA was kinda going through the motions for the most part though.

Okay so for those that are curious about the ranking analysis, Cuba will be dropping a TONNE of points before the ranking comes out June 6. That means they are going to be much lower in the world rankings, possibly by as much as 20 spots.

Kinda sucks for us, since our ranking is based off of theirs if we beat them...now the game will be worth less, in other words. As I said before if you are curious, Honduras and Panama should be moving up from 7th and 5th in CONCACAF to 4th and 3rd respectively. To those that say rankings don't matter, remember our ranking is based off of theirs. It won't matter until either 2015 for the world cup draw, but I think we can all agree it would be nice if Canada started to climb those rankings and stayed there at least top 6.

The FIFA rankings are kind of bunk, but they reward teams that play a lot, and favour qualifiers vs friendlies. I remember for one of the last two World Cups there was a press release bragging that all 32 qualified teams were in the top 50, or something like that. But that kind of happens by definition. If Canada makes the Hex and gets a result or two we'll be top 6 in CONCACAF .

Know what makes them REALLY bunk? They use the ranking, but then a CONCACAF opponent is also worth .88 of a UEFA opponent. The ranking should be the value, flat out...you shouldn't need a SECOND thing to value something. THAT is bunk, and actually for countries that are concerned about their ranking (and some are...you need extra qualifying stages in certain competitions based on rankings)...it gives further discouragement from playing a CONCACAF side!
