Total Rumour, but...

Antonio Rago was on Twitter with Randy Edwini-Bonsu this afternoon suggesting that REB would be joining the Eddies on loan for the summer. Hard to tell just from the exchange if it was just a joke, or something more legit, but I thought I add some grist to the Rumour mill over here.

I saw their exchange as well and it seemed wink-wink-ha-ha to me. Even if Rago was being serious, REB mentioned that he won't return to Edmonton until June 2 and I'm guessing Braunschweig's pre-season will start about a month later. I suppose it's not impossible that Braunschwieg would loan him for a few weeks, but I can't see it happening.
What I find perhaps juicier is that if REB plans to be home in Edmonton on June 2, that would rule him out of the CMNT camp and WCQ games in June. I thought he'd have a good chance of being involved this time.

I remember REB mentioning before that when he was let go by Vancouver he considered FCE before deciding to pursue a contract in Europe. Anyway... I'd assume it was just a joke.

It's just one of those things that makes poetic sense. We were kinda hoping REB would join FCEd last year... And I'd take him even if it was only for June/July.

That would be a similar move to what Marcus Haber did when he joined the Caps after signing with West Brom.

I'd like to see a Tosaint Ricketts rumour back to Edmonton. Or how about a Tam Nsaliwa rumour back to Edmonton. I'd like something like that as long as we're dreaming.

Wait a sec, REB not making the CMNT? I would hope he at least got an invite for the camp. It's not like we've got a ton of depth... He should be getting worked into the system at least. I hope we're reading too far into the "June 2nd" thing... maybe that's an "at the earliest" he'd be back date. WE'll see I guess.

I was just surprised to see him state that he'd be in Edmonton June 2, cause isn't the Cuba game June 9? Maybe there's a break between the May camp and the team reassembling for the qualifiers???
In any case, I too would be surprised not to see him called.
