Thread: Solving Canada's stadium atmosphere for WCQ

Default Solving Canada's stadium atmosphere for WCQ

Simple. Play in a much smaller stadium which is way more intimint, no more than 10,000 until the demand outgrows the stadium. We have stadiums at 10,000 or under all across Canada that would suit the World Cup qualifying better than these fancy new bigger stadiums.

Here in Canada we think like the Americans bigger is better infact it can do more damage. A smaller rowdy full capacity stadium can be way more fun than a 1/4 filled 20,000+ stadium.

We are a very spoilt nation and maybe now our National Teams need to understand that you don't get to play in the best until you deserve it. Win and you get rewarded.

If Canada gets positive results, then fan interest will return and demand would force the National Team to play in bigger stadiums. At this time the National Team does not have the demand to play in 20,000 plus seated stadiums across Canada.

If you can think of one good reason why they deserve to play in front of 20,000 plus seat stadium I am all ears. The stadiums are more expensive to run and are less intimit when sparse.

I believe they need a crowd of roughly 10K to break even on a match.

So if you play in a site with only 10K, you guarantee no profit. Not wise.

BMO Field is probably the best pitch in the country and the players like it. The most V's live here. We filled it for this stage last cycle.

There's more than one reason they should play there.

Not to mention BMO and Saputo (when it's finished) are really the only professional level soccer stadia (edit: with grass pitches) in the country. We don't need to go back to bush league university grandstands if we don't have to.

I wouldn't be against closing off the upper deck on the West side if its just going to be 90% Honduras fans though
Success is sweet: the sweeter if long delayed and attained through manifold struggles and defeats.

Unfortunately i don't think the CSA would want to miss out on the cash windfall from Honduran fans...

It's our ticket sales that suck, not the ticket sales in the rest of the stadium.

There is going to be a good Canadian crowd there, unless I am completely misunderstanding what I have heard.

My ticket sales concerns are 112 & 113.

    For us?

    Half of 112 and 1/4 of 113.

No idea for the rest of the stadium but I have heard encouraging numbers for JDV's initiative and Umbro's.
