Basic road game. Nothing fancy just get the win, the away goals and clean sheet. Pity about the small turnout for FCE. Omar is MOTM for sure. Tiebert has some competition! That is a good thing as Omar will migrate to forward and RT will take over LM. All in due time my friends, all in due time. Right now Salgado is looking great (for spurts) against MLS and constantly against a D2 team. Cheeky chip shot that almost worked.

The Impact/TFC game got the good officials. We got the also rans (also waddled?). Not a badly officiated game but behind the play and out of position for most of the match. CSA needs to step up its game or let the teams hire pro crews from other countries. The game has been taken to a higher level but the officiating hasn't.

You think? I thought the reffing in that match was pretty inconsistent and frustrating for both teams on several different occasions. And the fourth official was having a nervous break down when the electronic sub/stoppage time board failed.

The Whitecaps looked a step up in physicality/athleticism. Salgado showed some game.

I think the second goal was offside.

So did Teibert get on the field!? The CSA report only states 2 subs for Vancouver:

In the second half, coach Martin Rennie replaced Harris with Michael Nanchoff (70') and Hassli with Long Tan (78').

FCE started 6 Canadians (Monsalve, Hamilton, Lassonde, Oppong, Porter and Saiko) and subbed in 2 more (Lam and Kooy).

Seriously. Was that Don Koharski's daughter huffing around the park?

Pinto looks the real deal, but that was only his first game as he has a Canadian Work Permit, but not one for the USA.
More games will sharpen him up.

I think the ticket sales were about 8,000. Problem is, In a bowl that holds 60-K, the crow always looks swamped.

Southsiders beat the ESG 11-7, but The southsiders keepr was owned by our Penalty taker, .... He's not turning 11 until Mid June, by the way

You don't win games with Canadians! (But please murder Jordan Harvey and put Russell Teibert in his place, thanks).

That was actually quite funny. Every TFC player going "Me? Am I being subbed?". Electronic board toast and back to the old school flip board

I thought the officials at the TFC game were quite good. Got the late call on Silva (I think) for the handball. It happened so quick I missed it and so did the announcers. Ref was pissed off at the TFC player.

A few weeks back at the Caps MLS game one of the side judges was sporting a large beer gut. He only had to cover half the field and was out hard pressed to do so. The game in North America has taken play to the next level but the USSF/CSA have not taken the officiating there. Needs attention and quick.

Just seemed very inconsistent with minor, flow disrupting stuff: a guy would barely get touched and then there'd be a call, folllowed by a guy would getting pushed and dropped from behind and then there'd be no foul, but then a few minutes later the same play would result in a call. Fortunately, the match seemed a sterile affair or tempers would have run much hotter.

Mind you, I watched the game in a bad mood to begin with so perhaps that affected my perspective.

Live the officiating looked fairly suspect alot of the time. In other words totally normal for a North American pro match.
