I wish the handball in the box would have been called against Vancouver. In no way am I upset about it. It happened so fast, I missed it watching it live, but I would have loved to see our team get a goal in the Voyageurs Cup. A home goal to be exact.

The one against Salgado? That would have been a really tough call. It looked to me like Pinto got manhandled a bit in the box during the second half; that was a better chance.

I was shocked at the attendance. FCE has had a horrible start this season... So much expectations. The crazy thing is, where they are weakest early on is in the positions where they are playing internationals. Hatchi is horrible. Augustyn is a nightmare. Ilja, while he had likely his best game at FCE against the Whitecaps, is terrible and the midfield is lost with him in the lineup. Ever since he joined the club, we've been on a ride downhill. I was told recently that we've won twice since he joined the team. We ere flying high before he joined us last season and steadily dropped since his arrival. It's not fair to heap blame on one player but I think he's a sign of the troubles we've had.

Fath has dropped a lot cash on this team and brought in what should be the best team in the NASL. The results aren't there. Not even close. The Caps game was FCE in a nutshell. Is it any wonder that less than 5000 showed up? They got what they deserved. The players are to blame. No question about it. We suck. The quality is there. Certainly, no question about it but the boys are not coming to play. They need a shakeup quick before all momentum, in the press, in the stands and on the field is wasted. And yeah, Lodeweges was there on Wednesday... Here's hoping it starts there.

Props to the Caps supporters who came to watch the game. They were all class. I still don't like the anti-Canadian vibe that Lenarduzzi has created over there but the Whitecap supporters are aces in my books.

I dunno. There are a lot of factors that contributed to this particular attendance flop, of course, but I think sucking for a few weeks shouldn't be grounds for the city and most the supporters to abandon you. Look at TFC for an example. If FCE is going to survive for even a few more seasons, they are going to require a core group of fans that can ride out much tougher times than this.

That's exactly where a penalty should of been called.

I assume they didn't call it cause the ball was judged to be out of his reach anyways, but Mitchell like you said 'manhandled' Pinto. Everyone saw it too.

More games will sharpen him up.

I think the ticket sales were about 8,000. Problem is, In a bowl that holds 60-K, the crow always looks swamped.

Southsiders beat the ESG 11-7, but The southsiders keepr was owned by our Penalty taker, .... He's not turning 11 until Mid June, by the way
Here is video of the supporters game. Some great footwork and celebrations by Curva Collective member Forever a Team.
