I don't know if he should sign with TFC though, that would give us 10 Canadians and make us 11% worse (what's -11% of 0 points?) than we were before. [/sarcasm]
Jaime Peters has been told by Ipswich that he can leave. Here is the link to a story on a fan website. http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=20696&p=2#comm
Paul Jewell's comments regard both players seem to be harsh and suggest poor man management. And I disagree with what he says about Jaime. Him saying he hasn't had too many opportunities is understatement of the year, from my recollection he has had about 2 chances with Ipswich. In both games, he played poorly as did the whole team. You can make a case for unfair treatment to Jaime, but if you don't play well then you haven't got much of a leg to stand on. The first game Jewell will have watched him in was when Jaime kept Arshavin under wraps in the Carling Cup. In the second leg they attacked Ipswich's right hand side and Edwards had no answer to it. I feel sorry for Jaime as this has seriously hindered his career, and hopefully he can make a move to the MLS instead of league 1 or 2. Although, you have to wonder if Jaime applied himself in training at all, as that would have some sway on if he got in the squad or not.
There is an interesting comment by a fan on this article, which may shed some light on why he wasn't playing overly well. It reads as follows:
"Peters is an enigma : one of the lady stewards at Portman Road, whom I know pretty well, took him under her wing when he was first here (invited him to Xmas Dinner etc) and always said he was a lovely lad, but with very few mates. He seems to have been permanently homesick and depressed since he's been here, which is ages now. For his own sake, he needs to go home to Canada before becoming a very unwanted statistic : why this hasn't happened before now baffles me. A happy Jaime Peters is capable of being a very good player : but too much unhappy time has passed for him to become that player now. "

Wonder if the reason for Jaime staying as long as he did is that the pay packet with the Tractor Boys was just too good to leave. He won't make that in Canada since he won't/shouldn't get DP money in MLS.
Nah, i was reading this garbage:

Peters to MLS would be outstanding. A good league and he'd be put in positions to succeed (variety of positions) depending on coach and opposition. TFC makes sense but most MLS teams would be able to identify him as an upgrade in a variety of positions - RB, RM, CAM/#10 either as depth or starter....he'd prob sign for 80-100?
aka, Bettermirror.
I'd like to see him in MLS..and not just necessarily on one of the Canadian teams. I think its good to get more of our player pool over here on any MLS team playing regularly.
