Thread: Edwini-Bonsu role for CMNT

    Default Edwini-Bonsu role for CMNT

Just watching REB play for EB. In the two matches I've seen him play for EB he has played at the centre of a front 3 or in front of a 4-2-3 formation as the top "1". EB are a relatively fluid team. But his position was fairly static. Play on the shoulder of the last defender, look to exploit his speed.

He can fill a lot of roles for CMNT obviously, but what a good foil he could be if replacing a guy like Occean, or even DeRo. Put him on for 20 minutes against tired defenders and let him loose....I can't comment on his crossing ability but at least putting him in a position to run the channels would be best. The role for the u23's he played made a lot of sense.

I don't see him as a starter but he's gotta be considered a definite squad member for CMNT.

Occean, DeRo, Ricketts, Jackson, REB, Hume, Simpson as our attacking options either starting or off the bench. Did I forget anyone? Occean about the only one in that group who is limited to one role.

Yeah, I hope and believe that he'll be in the mix come June. I agree that at this stage he's tailor-made as a sub. He and Ricketts can be a handful with their pace.

    Makes sense to me.

Except when it's getting him red carded.

But ya gotta admit that the "up yours" arm motion to the ref was a classic

Just having him on the squad list gives the other teams one more thing to try and plan for. Ahead or behind I love bringing him in with 20-25 minutes left. They dare not push too many players forward if we are ahead and they will have to sit back if they are ahead lest he runs right past them. The first one limits their attack and the second gives us access to the attacking third easier. Both great things.

You simply can't ignore that much speed up front. Between him, Simpson, and Ricketts we can make ourselves fairly annoying to play against.

As well as Jackson and even Hume. Imagine if Hoilett was added to that mix. Haha, Mexican wing backs would certainly have to adapt and become proper full backs!
