Remember when the red team eliminated both Montreal and Vancouver to win the Voyageurs cup?
Its a big day for TFC if Aron Winters bold predictions are to hold true the new coach will need to come away with full points.
Can a still in turmoil club put it together now .... or will it be a set of players who have nothing left to give emotionally who go to the pitch in KC?
Will a poor showing and effort by players lead to a new set of players being brought in or will Senior management demand no new expenses this w year on players given the attendance at the last home match ?
Red team elimination stats will be changing and on the critical bubble from now on.... will Marnier find the right formation to play in KC, is total soccer totally gone from TFC ?
Will the swiss bolt be the next formation ?

DeGuzman posts bail....finally TFC starts to work together, with the trio in jail Julian pulls out the Amex Platinum card and gets them to the hotel in time for breakfast with the new coach... well done.
The Marnier era is going well.
We'll see who does better in the Champions League, alright?
Yes I'm sure TFC will do Canada proud in the Champs. Lg., Really who knows probably will be a totally different roster with another new coach, 7 times lucky, right?
Though a successful TFC campaign through the Champions League would be to finish with the same coach you started with.

That is what they did in last years Champion's League. You know, the one where they made it to semi final?
And speaking of coaching changes, Vancouver has had 3 different coaches in their year and half of being in MLS. Lets just see if they can finish a season with the same coach before you start taking jabs at other teams.

With apparent failures to conduct reasonable substitutions, and the change in tactics not moving the team ahead in a positive manner, is the new Gaffer in over his head in Toronto ?
A critical game is coming up for the hearts and minds of the TFC kool-aid crowd, Wednesday in Montreal the head to head battle will tell a lot about Toronto as a team and by extension its club structure and fan base.
Questions... Will a confident, in their new home Impact be disdainful of the Toronto midfiled with Terry Dufield and a older by every week Torsten ( milonaire ) Frings playing Mariners diamond tactics ?
Will the TFC backline succeed in perfecting its long ball play it out defensive style, and drop the ball behind the Montreal defence to an on running TFC forward ?
Will the TFC hardcore fan base drive down the road and occupy more then a hundred seats in the west stand ?
As Toronto is now at its halfway point is there time for one more Manager to be brought in to run the club and make the playoffs after the transfer window opens ?
Can this game be called a Classico ?

Mariner's substitution patterns in the last two games have been baffling. In consecutive matches with his team leading, but needing defensive reinforcements, he has removed Julian de Guzman for Reggie Lambe, an attacking wide player without a defensive bone in his body. If Julian is tiring, there are better options.
I thought Frings had been a step slow since the beginning of the year, but by now it might be 2 or 3 steps.
JDG was spent. Prior to his sub he was struggling in staying with his midfield mark on give and go's close to the penalty and he also lost possession too easily off of a simple layoff from Dunfield in a dangerous area, this after Dunfield did a pretty good job of dribbling out of trouble and keeping the ball for TFC, which was needed at that time (ironic role switch there). Prior to that point in the match I thought JDG had a good game on the left side in offensive and defensive support of Morgan, whose running and crossing were superb.
As for better options, it's clear that this year neither head coach has enough faith in Stinson who last year logged quite a few sub minutes and even starts in that kind of role. I'd be curious to know about his situation.
I have been a big Frings supporter since his arrival but I didn't find him particularly influential offensively and frankly a liability on a number of defensive situations yesterday where he didn't pick up his midfield mark. I can't see the rest of the dog days of summer and fixture congestion being kind to him. In the 20/20 world of hindsight this might have been a good game to shift him back into the quasi-sweeper spot between the two CBs to help direct and coordinate back there. Then maybe we would not have seen that horrible marking job which luckily ended in Sene's horrendous "attempt" on goal after going clear through: that play had both CB Henry and RB Eckersley coverging on the same NE player on the ball tight on the touch line, exposing the back line.
