Built in 1935.
The historic stone building will be replaced by a new building in what was once the out skirts of the city about 800 metres from the Kent County line.
A developer has agreed to keep the facade and turn the downtown building into condos, retail and office space.
Mold in the old building has made the structure unfit as a school and it's cheaper to build a new one than retro fit.
This was the only HS at the time now more than a dozen in Greater Moncton.
But if mold is a problem in a 77 year old stone structure.........what do they do in Europe to buildings open for centuries?
Now I know Moncton isn't a military town, a capital, or a port just a transportation hub but we seem to throw history away easily.
