I would assume that since Furth have a game on the 25th and on the 2nd, and that they are in the promotion hunt, that he either was not asked or that he refused (Best guess is that Hart talked to him and said we want you, but we don't want to ruffle any feathers so we won't even ask)

Been following the Philippines National team as of late (married to a Filipina), and their best player is on Furth as well, and he did not get called either for the Phlippines game against Malaysia on the 29th.

So it is looking more and more like Furth has been having conversations with national teams to not call their players (my assumption).

Surprised to see Hutch, but pleasantly surprised. Too bad about Occean but I understand sticking with his club for this bit.

The line-up pretty much picks itself. I am pretty stoked they are giving the youngster Piette a call. He did well in the WC and so why not have a look. It's a friendly so the substitutions will surely be more than 3 and they can maybe get him 10-15 minutes?

But why call Piette and not also Di Chiara or Aleman to bring the squad to 18?

Subs: Stama, Hume, Nana, Habs, Ledg, Piette

All outfield lads should get a run out. Nana in at RB, Hume any of the W roles, Habs at CF, Ledg in CM, and Piette in CM or W.

Both CB will get a full 90, Kluk a full 90. One of the FW/W will go 90 but not all 3. I doubt JDG goes 90 but if any of the three do it'll be him. Not that he is our best CM just that he has been playing injury free.

All things considered the line-up isn't terrible. They'll have a tough time keeping poss against Armenia though.


Just like an earlier post where do I sign up for a big bet in Canada's favour with Armenia having large odds to win!

Prediction: 1-1.

But why call Piette and not also Di Chiara

I see two options:

1) Not good enough
2) Joseph is a starter on a regular basis for first-team at pre-season. (Played 90 minutes today). Could have declined a call-up, so he can have a chance to end last pre-season training camp well and become a starter for the club. (Similar story with Edvini-Bonsu).
Also, an u23 camp is coming soon, maybe he needs to spend time with club, so he can be released for U23 national team.

With the Canadian roster given, I predict 2-2, or 3-2 either way.

I like this lineup. Straith at RB over either Nana or Ledgerwood for sure. Jules, Pacheco and Hutch in midfield. Simpson and Jackson for sure, and either Ricketts or Haber to round out the attack. I might even go Ricketts at RW and Jackson as the CF.
