You can remove Borman from the roster as he is part of the re-entry draft.

Here is a list of all of the players.

^ Montreal put Sutton on the re-entry draft list? I thought he was only on loan to them?

Always on the cards when Yourassowsky's name wasn't on the waivers list, given the emergence of Ashton Morgan. Have to wonder at this point whether Yourassowsky and Bouchiba got two seasons guaranteed. Technically Borman could still return despite being in the re-entry draft because the process can be used to chisel a player down to a lower salary but in Borman's case that seems highly unlikely.

Maybe they feel Yourassowsky should get a chance to finish off the Champions League since after all he did score the winner in the Nutrilite. Theres no way he'll last the whole season.

Don't think there is room for that kind of sentiment at the pro level unless the player is seen as being an absolute legend and there would be a backlash from the supporters if he were cut from the roster. Only Danny Dichio has approached that kind of popularity so far. The fine print of the new CBA is probably worth a look though for whether and how players on "guaranteed" deals can be released during training camp.

Well it doesn't really matter does it? If Winter wants to make the classy move and keep a player around before we get knocked out vs. LA before the season even starts.. then he can waive him or whatever.

I seriously doubt that angle is even part of Winter's thinking. There need to be at least two credible left backs on the roster so either Borman or Yourassowky was always likely to hang around at this point. From what I can see after a bit of googling players over 24 need three years experience in MLS to automatically have a guaranteed contract. Think that means Yourassowsky is still potentially only on a semi-guaranteed deal where there is more scope for being placed on waivers up to July 1st. Only one guaranteed deal can be bought out per off-season including DPs so there isn't much leeway on players who qualify in that regard once a contract option is picked up. The question I would have is whether nothing can be done on the status of Bouchiba, Williams and Cann until they are officially fit to play again? Given all three lack three years experience in the league they are all potentially only on semi-guaranteed deals at this point so maybe there was nothing to be gained by placing them on waivers.

Especially as I think he was already at or very near the league minimum as it was.

I don't really mind getting rid of Borman - it ensures that Ashtone Morgan will play and therefore improve under Winter for TFC and the national team.

I like the Canadian feel that is going to be on our roster

Young Canadian players: Morgan, Henry, Stinson, Lindsay, Makubuya
Canadian veteran players: Cann, Dunfield, de Guzman

I would really like to see Oscar Cordon play more. I think he has great potential and technical ability.

TFC will likely use Hall at RB and move Eckersley in at CB with either Doneil Henry or Andy Iro (if he's still around).
