    Default 2012

I know it's a bit early, but does anyone know if the format will be the same next year? If so, does that mean that the rankings for next year are as follows (if things don't change) 1-Toronto 2- Vancouver 3-Edmonton 4-Montreal?

I would love Montreal vs Toronto. As much as the Vancouver - Montreal games have been intense, nothing brings out emotions like Montreal - Toronto, in any sport.

Ask Robert - he'll provide you with a balanced, objective response.

My guess is it will be based on the results of the 2011 tournament:

    1. Toronto
    2. Vancouver
    3. Montreal
    4. Edmonton

Although I would like to see a Vancouver / Edmonton first round matchup.

For legitimacy they have to go with the competition's final standings from this year. Seeing as how TFC and IMFC will be facing off next year in league play, I think it will sort of downplay the chance of them meeting in the Cup as well. I'd love it if Edmonton could make a run and represent in the CCL - wouldn't it be great to see a ton of Canadian players representing in the CCL!

FCE should be stronger in 2012. They're already starting to build the team (which is miles ahead of where they were last year), and they have some solid, and young players that will have benefited from playing pro for a year.
That being said, TFC has been rebuilding as well, so it will be an interesting match up.

The seedings will be the same this year as last. In both league and NCC play the teams finished in the same order in 2011 as they did in 2010 did they not?

It will get interesting when Hamilton (and hopefully Ottawa) join-up in 2013....crossing fingers for Victoria as well though they have gone silent on moving up to USLPro lately.

No, Edmonton finished higher than Montreal in league play, which is why I assumed that Edmonton would be ranked third, and Montreal fourth.

Not sure where I saw it, but I believe all MLS teams are ranked above NASL, so that would mean it will be the same match up as this past season.

Is Hamilton for sure getting a D2 team for 2013? I haven't heard anything conclusive yet...
Ottawa will join in 2014, no way their stadium is ready before then.

I imagine when the NCC gets to 6 teams it will turn into the standard 6 team playoff format, top ranked 2 get a bye to the second round.
