I'm disappointed by the news. One thing I intended to do was watching Nakajima perform at the AFC Champions League.

I am confused. Why are you bringing up Simpson but quoting me? I didn't mention Simpson at all. Not a chance is Issey ahead of Simpson...I suggest he'd be ahead of Hume if he was a regular in MLS...or equivalent Scandinavian/B2 type league I suppose.

I don't know if Issey playing in a better league alone puts him higher than Hume. Hume is a Championship calibre player playing in League One, it is what it is, at least he's playing regularly. Also, he was one of our best players in this last round of qualifying and as we know 2011 was a great year form wise for him. If he can get healthy he deserves a shot to win a spot ASAP, he's a name that doesn't get mentioned much in potential XIs etc. but he may be what we need on that right side.

I know you didn't mention Simpson, but you mentioned Hume as a winger and I consider Simpson to be the real competition for anyone after the LW spot in our squad.

Issey is not competition for Simpson. Issey would be behind more than just Josh Simpson as a left wing option. There are a number of guys such as De Ro, Johnson, Hume (can play both sides), Jackson (potentially both sides), and De Jong all ahead of him as wingers. Even Ricketts could do a job there ahead of Issey. Issey is well down the charts as it stands. If he moves on to a good league I can certainly see him filling in very adequately.

Yes, to your point, Simpson is the undisputed #1 at the LW spot - and the "real competition" for anyone wanting to play there.

    Issey can play both wings.

The A-League season goes from October - April 22nd, so for many of your matches Issey will be available. He is a good player, but definitely not amongst the premier strikers in the league. Brisbane Roar are a very good side though, with a great coach. You wouldn't want him anywhere else in Australia.

That's coming from a Perth Glory fan.
