Default Modifying the 1986 Canada theme song - borging it for us

    ----------------

    One thousand to one

Are the odd they’re giving us

A lot of them are in for a surprise

    We’ve got a mighty team
That no one else has seen

The stars of Canada are on the rise

But who can lay down odds on the hearts of eleven men
Oh Canada our hearts are ringing true

    We’ve sung for you before
And we’ll sing for you again

Oh Canada we’ll proudly cheer for you

    ------------

Repeat Chorus several times or repeat song.

We were once so close to heavan
Peter came out and gave us medals
    Declaring us, the nicest,
    Of the damned

wow, i have an erection. I want that played at least once at bmo. before the match as motivation.

It is quaint and funny to hear the references to players of old but not a very good or inspiring song in my opinion. I think we should concentrate on being able to do strong performances of good and inspiring songs like The Maple Leaf Forever instead of desperately trying to build a repertoire of crap and mediocrity.

I think I know what we're singing at the recording.

Yeah, it's pretty pablum like, but simple and has some history.

I like the hearts of eleven men line.

I like the fact that it's tied to our 86 year.
I like that it's simple, easy to learn and sing along. Sounds like something you could hear at a game and pick up quickly.

I would repeat the Chorus one more time from the excerpt you posted.

Absolutley love it! I'd like to see this sung at the Qualifiers.

I think with a straight clap, this would actually be one of our better chants. And with the amendments of socceronly, to make it more supporters like, I think it's a shoo in.

I was hoping Grizzly would start it with his Guitar on the capo stand! LOL! On second thought, lets get him a cheap Ukulele, god knows what might happen to his guitar at a game. Might end up in the ass of a referee.
