Default De Rosario traded again, this time to DC United

On paper it's clear that DC got the better of the deal, so it makes me wonder what the RB's have up their sleeves or if Bakce got tired of DeRo's act.

So where is De Ro now? Back on a team that's currently out of playoff position, and still no payday.

Hope playing with Henry and Marquez for three months was worth it.

Don't agree with that at all. McCarty is a 24 year old who is a solid player, works well in a team and has leadership qualities. On top of that he is working his way into the US MNT. Going the other way is a 33 year old borderline Canadian national team player who is only effective if you build your team around him and who is the exact opposite of a leader. Add in that McCarty's salary is less than half that of DeRo and I think DCU got taken to the cleaners on this one.

Probably no coincidence that the transfer window is about to open and a lot of player contracts in Europe will be expiring at the end of this week. RBNY can probably sign a third DP now with the salary prorated to a level that keeps them under the cap. Factor in Dax McCarty and they probably are going to be a stronger team as a result of this.

When you consider the fact that TFC is paying part of De Rosario's salary, NYRB probably aren't saving much money making this trade.

If anything this is a pure soccer trade: based purely on the players and not on money.

I know one thing, I wish TFC still had De Rosario.

Maybe it was Dero's playing for Canada in the Gold Cup against his coach's publicly stated wishes that got him traded. Maybe NYRB looked at the up coming WCQ and counted the number of games he would be missing and just decided to get someone who will be around for them.

Just wondering - doesn't FIFA have a law stating you can't move teams more than once in a calendar year .... or something to that effect?

Can't help but feel that one's argument that one should be paid as a DP takes a bit of a hit if you are getting traded one for one for Dax McCarty (whom I doubt anyone is going to claim is DP material).
