Vic, you mean French Canada. :-) And yes they did.

Radio-Canada will be featuring another WC report on Sat 18 June 4pm Est.; should be on their web page shortly after.

On this note, we have started to see also some WC commercials both on English and French TV channels, pretty exciting!

Still have 1 Cat 1 ticket available for this game - anyone interested?

Yes French Canada. Great on them. I saw one of those Canadian commercials the other day too. Thought it was a little templated but hard to complain when it's so rare.

Good piece on the Angerer, Kulig and the Germans:

Didn't I see a link to an "article" on the Germans in the German Playboy somewhere? Yahoo's "Dirty Tackle" I think...

Yeah someone posted it on twitter yesterday. I really don't want to post the link though so if you find it do what you please.

No, not really. Just showing that the Germans are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to promotion... must've made ol' Sepp happy.

Just saw the link, reminds me of the German porn star "player" a while back. None of these players are on the national team. This week in England the cover scandal was Ryan Gigg's brother's ex-partner kiss-and-telling about the players she'd slept with, so the Germans are well above the baseline English trash.

Deutsche Welle has done their usual great work in a series on the German women this year:

The cultural adoption of women's soccer in Germany:
Women's football moves onside in German life

The increase of female fan-dom in Germany:
Female football fans claim vital ground in German stadiums

The German World Cup performance bonus plan:
Germany's female footballers celebrate higher bonus victory

Lesbians vs. gays in the German national teams:
Steeped in a man's sport, lesbian footballers fit the mold

German PR, press and promotion picking up hype as the tournament approaches.

Coach Silvia Neid and their players:

Schwarzkopf Haircare has set a new standard for sponsors in terms of quality in promoting women's soccer. Yes, these are all players on the women's team.
