Also glad to hear this. I find these ads really intrusive, might ultimately reduce the amount of time I personally spend on the site.

Totally agree. They were supposed to be yanked from being served here.

The interesting thing is I have never gotten one. I would lose my **** over that.

I also have not gotten any ridiculous site load times, and I am using the butthole of internet access while couch surfing till I get my apartment back.

So if the ad server is serving different things based on your browsing history, that could explain why some people are getting different results in wild load times if some of the ads are bigger or served from different places.

These talking advertisements were popping up on me yesterday. If they continue, it will greatly diminish the amount of time I spend visiting this forum.

Again, I keep thinking of me like 10 or 15 years ago surfing around, vaguely interested in the MNT. Would I have spent a few minutes for a page to load to get some tidbit on a guy playing in the Scottish third tier or the Uz-shaight-estan second division if I had to wait ages for a simple page to load? It's not like we are talking about rich image-based pages - the core of the forum is not all that different from ten years ago, really, and I'm cool with that.

We are turning potential V's away with this ridiculous ad revenue scheme. Is this really worthwhile in the grand scheme of things?
