    Default Your dream team??

    Hi

I am a noob when it comes to team canada, just starting to get more involved with following our MNT, and i was wondering what would be your dream team. You can use players from the past, present and future also if you want u can use players who chose to play for another country ( i prefer not to worry about then TRAITORS lol)

I ask you this because i don't know the history and this will allow me to know our great players
    Thanks
(sorry if a thread like this was already created)

    My (humble) take:

    GK: Craig Forrest

DEF: Bobby Lenarduzzi, Kevin McKenna, Jason De Vos, Paul Stalteri

MID: Julian de Guzman, Atiba Hutchinson, Dwayne De Rosario

FWD: Tomasz Radzinski, Paul Peschisolido, John Catliff

    BENCH:
    Paul Dolan (GK)
    Frank Yallop (D)
    Randy Samuel (D)
    Mark Watson (D)
    Jim Brennan (M)
    Mike Sweeney (M)
    Dale Mitchell (F)
    Alex Bunbury (F)
    Igor Vrablic (F) maybe?

There's an embarassment of riches when it comes to D's and forwards, but I can't bring to mind many "Dream Team-calibre" midfields. Anyone else care to chime in?

I would have Bruce Wilson in my starting back four! Carl Valentine and Tino Lettieri would also make my squad, they all actually qualified and played in a World Cup!

Pretty sad that 4 of our all time greats in gwallace's 11 were supposed to be key players in 2008... they need to redeem themselves in the upcoming Gold Cup and Qualifiers

I agree with you there. Midfield was the most challenging for me to choose. I really had a hard time thinking of midfielders from back in the day because we had a constant influx of new midfielders and were playing many people out of position: Defenders as midfielders etc.

I want to add Coach to my selection and it's a toss up between Waiters and Holger. For me though Holger did the most with the least.

Definately include Segota, Bruce Wilson also has to be there. Courtesy Wikipedia "Wilson earned 51 caps for Canada. In 1998, he was selected to a CONCACAF "team of the century", the only Canadian to receive the honour. He was a six-time NASL all-star selection, including three first-team selections (Vancouver in '77, Chicago in '79, Toronto in '84)."

Wes McLeod was the poster boy for Canadian soccer in the NASL days. Courtesy Wikipedia "Over eight seasons with the Rowdies, he was selected to the NASL's North American All-Star team in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982, a record six times.

McLeod played 17 times for Canada, made his international debut at 17 in 1975 against Poland in Toronto. A year later he was a member of the Olympic team at the Olympic Games in Montreal and had a memorable game against the Soviet Union in the Olympic Stadium. He was a member of Canada's national team in World Cup qualifying in 1976 and in 1980 and 1981."

    Oh yeah, Bruce Wilson!

I knew I was going to **** this up somehow.

My main problem is I only started following the CMNT in the mid-90s, so I missed out in seeing many of the classics play.
