Soccer was an organized sport way ahead of hockey,in fact the early reports on Hockey in Toronto are around the 1888.89.
the father of Canadian hockey is a soccer guy,etc etc.
trhose ratings are magnificent and adding in all the bars and restaurants etc a phenomenal number.

thanks Reddy,I wonder if they will publish these figures since the media is very busy making that final a very bad event and they are now wondring what are we doing adopting soccer and relating it to a very bad choice in the making.I think they should look in the backyard and for starters clean up hockey etc.i

The add execs at the CBC are wetting themselves. Some pretty monster numbers. Anyone who bought ad time during the final will be paying the ceiling and should be happy to do so I'd think.

Very encouraging on all levels. And interesting to note the rather significant difference in scale between the Canadian and USA numbers. Quite surprised by that actually.

Pretty impressive numbers for the final! 5.8 Million combined viewers for a country of 34 Million or 16.5% penetration. In the US there were 8.8 Million Spanish speaking viewers out of a 45.5 Million Latinos pop for about 20%. And the other 250+ Million non-Latinos accounted for 15.5 Million viewers or about 6% or less.
