They don't really care. They're guaranteed a certain amount of cash from SUM for their participation. The tournament does absolutely nothing for their finances, and it means nothing to their players and fans.

As TFCRegina was alluding to, the SuperLiga was really set up by private company SUM, rather than by CONCACAF. That is how crappy our regional football confederation is. I'm not sure if there is any decent prize money for the SuperLiga, either from SUM or from CONCACAF.

I am not sure the exact amount, however the winning purse for SuperLiga is the largest for any soccer tournament or championship in North America. (CCL, Hunt/Voyageurs Cup, Pro league titles)

Seconded. Ever since the current CCL format came out, SuperLiga has been redundant.

There are only four pro teams right now, but maybe we can get a second CCL spot when new teams pop up in Hamilton, Victoria, etc. In the mean time, I would settle for an automatic spot in the CCL group stage.

That won't happen BEFORE we get a second spot. Every country with an automatic spot already has 2 spots. Also, El Salvador has 2 spots but they don't have an automatic one. CFU has 3 spots, yet no spot is automatic neither. These 2 federations will get an automatic spot before we do as it stands now.

Let's wait for a second spot first, then we'll fight for an automatic group stage spot with the second one to help our cause.
