Hello Everyone! Here is the latest edition of my stats list. Thank you Cheeta and Raven for your comments/suggestions. The biggest changes in the new edition are the inclusion of the Voyageurs Cup (starting with its inception in 2003) and the inclusion of the Challenge Cup after it became a purely amateur championship (after 1963) - as "leagues C". In order to give credit to the Calgary Caledonians, I brought back the People's Shield. I noticed that (with the exception of 2008) the team that won the Voyageurs Cup was also the Canadian team with the best regular season result. Therefore, when there was no Voyageurs Cup and no Canadian team won the playoffs, I decided to include the Canadian team with the best regular season result (shown in italics). These results (i.e. those in italics) were not included in the championship count at the bottom of the list.
In order to incorporate the Voyageurs Cup and the Challenge Cup in their entirety, I had to include two champion teams per year on five occasions. In 1961 and 1962 teams won the Challenge Cup that still belonged to the old generation of that competition. In 1963 there was no Challenge Cup, and after that totally new teams started winning that tournament. A new era begun. Nevertheless, the ECPSL started play in 1961. Therefore, I included both the Challenge Cup and the ECPSL for the years 1961 and 1962. Since I wanted to acknowledge Vancouver's USL-D1 championships in 2006 and 2008, those years are doubled up to include both the Voyageurs Cup and USL-1 playoff titles. In 2007, besides including Montreal Impact as the winners of the Voyageurs Cup, I also included Toronto FC of the MLS (in italics). Toronto FC did not take part in the Voyageurs Cup that year.
I await your comments :-).
