Since our last outbreak of spam on the forum new "sign ups" to The Voyageurs have had their membership validated manually by the website Administrators. This function was previously a task handled by software. Software which has since been found to be very wanting.

For the most part Sign Ups won't notice anything different. The validation process is one of those behind the scenes operations.

One difference Sign Ups will notice is the "validation e-mail" they receive, that final part needed to complete the membership process, will take longer to arrive. The e-mail will no longer be instant. There may be a delay so please be patient.

If you find that you are unable to become a member of the Voyageurs (and gain Forum privileges as a result) contact cheetav@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do about getting your membership activated.

For a variety of reasons "legitimate" Sign Ups may mistakenly be lumped in with the spammers and denied membership. If you're initially denied membership don't take it personally. The reasons for that denial may be unknown to you or beyond your control. It is still possible to sign up for membership with The Voyageurs by direct e-mail.
