    Default Nova Scotia Soccer...Job Openning

Does anyone know why would we hire someone with only a CSA "B" License to run:

"the annual operations of National Training Centre
(NTC) Atlantic, implementing the Canadian Soccer Association’s Long Term Athlete Development Model and coaching in the Soccer Nova Scotia provincial development program."

I mean if someone with a "B" is supposed to run the show isin't it kind of scary? Or is it just because we don't have enough CSA "A" License guys interested?

I'm not sure how many A license coaches there are in Atlantic Canada. That information is available on the CSA website somewhere. It might be hard to recruit coaches out to the Maritimes.

The problem here is that the coach they already have in mind for the job, probably has the B License only. They're making it sound like is an open opportunity for everybody. It's always the same, politics, politics, politics.

Well... they could have been like the CSA who said the mandatory requirement was an A License to apply for the U20 Women and U23 Men positions... and then hire coaches from in-house that only have B Licenses.

I believe that Soccer Nova Scotia is honest. Please have facts before you make accusations like that.

Well I can't speak for the administrative function that's going to hire for this position but with my past experiences I can't say that I've seen traits that are really much different from the rest of the country. I've certainly witnessed similar favortism and politics.

Anyway, the experience this sums it all up about the assoiation was when I was holding a practice for a bunch of U-10 kids and having the province sent us one of their technical staff to run things for a day (our TD had left the club on short notice). This guy was supposed to know his stuff because he trains other coaches and is in charge of more than just licking stamps at head office (apparently?).

Prov technical guy(explaining to kids how to kick the ball for a shot): you want to do this, this, this and this.

Me: oh and you probably want to tense your ankle as well

Prov technical guy: yes that too!

I suspect that there are so few "A" licenses that to ask for that would unduly restrict the potential applicants.
And, how much of this job is in fact administrative in any case?

You might be right about that vpsoccer and I asure you that there isn't much difference between A and B license coaches in Canada. The courses are so bad that in most cases the B course was better than the A course. So in my view they will be better off looking for somebody with some international experience, that resides in Canada and that can bring some new ideas to lift the quality of the game in Nova Scotia.
