Team Canada Chants

July 1st. is almost here - but I haven't heard any suggestions for new Team Canada chants for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

To get things going, here are a couple of suggestions:

1) A new version of 'O Canada' to the tune of Londonderry Air (Danny Boy)

Oh Can-a-da, the fans, the fans are calling
From New-found-land, to beautiful BC
The Maple Leaf, forever proudly waving
For you're our team, from sea to shining sea

We're here for you, when summer's in the meadow
And when our land is hushed and white with snow
We'll cheer for you, in sunshine or in shadow

(Add other player names for another verse – but I’m not sure that Kennedy Owusu-Ansah and Nana Attakora-Gyan are easy to fit in!)

A good Canadian chant...

na na na na, na na na na, ay ay ay, goodbye...

I'm pretty sure it's a Canadian song, known by all, both soccer fans and non-fans in Canada...start that chant and you'll have the whole stadium follow suit...granted we need to be winning so it might be awhile...lol

I think it came outta motown...

We should all learn the "shut your f**king face uncle f**ker" song as that is definetally Canadian

Hear, hear, kicking tune. Not the easiest for a crowd to sing though, with octave intervals etc. Could sing the chorus,

"The Maple Leaf, our emblem dear,
The Maple Leaf Forever,
God save our King and Heaven bless
the Maple Leaf forever."

Seems a little corny and out of date today but I love it. Would absolutely love to hear a stadium rocking to it. Probably a bit "Imperial" for the tastes of many Canadians.

You all know how I feel, you can't go wrong with "The Maple Leaf Forever"

I remember posting this back in 2005:

In day of yore, from Canada's shore,
scores of Voyageurs set sail.
To cheer en masse and raise a glass,
for Canada's fair domain.
