Helmond Sport lost 2-1 in OT against FC Volendam yesterday in the dutch playoff. So I guess Marcel De Jong won't play against his former team next year in the dutch first division.

If Hume gets one goal tomorrow against Southampton he will be the teams leading goal scorer for the year. Currently he has nine which ties him with Joey Gudjonsson and Mark de Vries.

There was a story in the Leicester Sporting Blue about Hume today but it isn't available on-line. Essentially it says that Hume (the darling of the Kop) thought the kop were booing him when he first arrived because they always chant Huuuuummmeeeee. He goes on to say that he has loved every minute at Leicester and he wasn't expecting to score as many goals as he has this year.

I saw Hume outside of Walkers today after the Leicester U18's game against the massive Milton Keynes U18's, but I didn't stop to talk to him. Heh. End of that story.

Odd that since at Tranmere they did the same chant. In Wirral they did not emphasize the "u", it was Hu-MAY-ay. Maybe they do it differently at Leicester.

Think that result puts Helmond Sport out of promotion possibilities, think they have altered the format and it is a knock-out playoff this year.

Also, hope noone watched the GolTV match looking for Julian. After being red-carded last week he sat out this, as Depor lost at home in the Galician derby to Celta Vigo, 0-2. That pretty well screws their chance at a UEFA spot.

Hume plays 90 minutes as Leicester City failed to show up in a 2-0 loss at Southampton.

Speaking of teams failing to show up, Stalteri has started his 34th (ish) league match at White Hart Lane where Bolton are having a very good run of it against 'Spurs. Quite sure Jol has torn into the lads but good at half time.

Nil-nil just kicking off the 2nd. Match is live on The Score.

Much, much better 2nd half. Lennon nets the 2nd half winner after a nice movement by 'Spurs. Dawson cheats the hangman a bit later as he bundles over Giannakopoulas in front of Robinson, but no penalty called. Bolton hard done by not to get a point from the test all and all.

As good a half played by Diesel as has been broadcast this season.
