OT...AGAIN/ Isn't the NHL afraid of saturation.
Before I start, I must say I am a hockey fan.
But...with RDS showing all 82 Habs games and 14 Sens, CBC with 60 games, TSN 71 games and RSN East 39 Sens, Pacific 45 'Nucks plus West with the Oilers and Flames also Leafs must get some in there in Ontario.
Shouldn't they start fearing maybe a little over exposure?
I know toy companies use an alotment system to keep toys hot, Maybe NHL should start looking to limit the amount of games on Canadian TV to keep interest up. Sometimes if things are too easy we give up on it.

Is the CBC going to be airing games? You kind of get the impression this lock out is going to last a wee bit longer yet and I dought the NHL will let some super crap production feature their product.
Unless of course the super crap part of the production IS their product.
Ah, and here's the twist. HNIC is hugely profitable. Besides the National, which needless to say is taking a crippling hit in the ratings, it's likely the only CBC a lot of Canadians watch anymore.
Basketball or the NFL don't seem overly concearned about it. Overexposure. Believe they were at one time and then refocused more on production quality and that seems to have worked out. Because lets face it, there are a lot of rubbish games out there and still people watch.
All those games are televised because there is an audience for them. People watch, and the advertising revenue obviously makes it worthwhile. The CBC is going ahead with HNIC regardless of the lockout mess. Hopefully it is cleared up before hockey season.
