Saturday sees Hannover 96 down south in Munich to take on 1860 Muenchen. Both teams have struggled in the 2nd half of the season but 1860 Muenchen are coming off a big win last weekend. Hannover 96 have drawn two games in a row but are desperate for a win to get out of relegation territory. Julian de Guzman is slated to be on the bench for this game.

Sunday, Werder Bremen host SC Freiburg. Another win by Paul Stalteri's team will inch them closer to the title. Paul Stalteri will likely be at left back in this game, as Schultz is suspended and Davala will be in the back four.

Fan interest will be huge tomorrow as Jahn Regensburg host local rivals 1.FC Nurnberg in the Bundesliga 2. Tam Nsaliwa is not expected to start.

Victor Oppong will likely be with the 1.FC Saarbrucken II team on Sunday as they take on SF Kollerbach.

1860 Munich hosts SpVgg Weiden (U - 23's) Tomorrow. Ledgerwood should once again see some action.

Swedish premier league 2004 season will kick off tomorrow with Helsingborg's away game against Landskrona BoIS. Atiba Hutchinson is in Helsingborg's starting 11, while Sita-Taty Matondo is with BoIS's youth team. It will probably be some time before he matures to the 1st team.

1st division (with Kenny Stamatopoulos at Enköpings SK) won't start their season for another 2 weeks.

Nsaliwa won back his starting spot in Regensburg this week and played 90 minutes in an important 2-1 home victory over Nurnberg. He had a part in the winning goal. It was probably a good decision for him to miss the Canada camp last week.

Good time to have Everton on the tube. Radzinski should start. BBC says Duncan Ferguson and Wayne Rooney are suspended, while Jeffers and Kevin Campbell recover from back problems.

    Bugger!!!

    Celtic-0 Hearts-2

De Vries sub'd on for Big Kev 15 minutes from time and makes Levein look good as he imediately nets goal #2.

    Ug.

P.S. OHHHHH maybe Levein isn't so clever!! McKenna out of the back line for the striker DeVries and Celtic come storming back! Sutton then Agathe and it's all level into added time when Hearts should have been home and dry. Weeeeeeeee....

    Celtic 2 Hearts 2

    McKenna scores one.

The bad result so far is the 1-0 loss by Wigan at home against bottom of table Wimbledon. That will really hurt their promotion chances.

Julian De Guzman came on in the 63rd minute for Hannover 96 against 1860 Munich (replacing Clint Mathis). At that point, the match was 0-0. Both goals came in the next 12 minutes, and it seems (if I have deciphered the German match ticker correctly) that Julian had a hand in setting up the first goal. He also picked up a yellow card along the way (he seems to be quite proficient at that).

Anyway, that is an important result for Hannover in terms of the relegation battle.

Bayern Munich also won today, so Bremen will have to win tomorrow to maintain their distance.
