Honestly this is actually a loaded topic as I'm going to use it as both a propagandhi machine for Christine Sinclair's wundergoal vs. Brazil as well as an excuse to get people to post links to goals scored by any and all Canadians of any age level or either sex.

So, if you have a particular goal in mind and could please link or embed a video clip of it, by all means throw its hat into the ring for everyone to take a look at and decide if it's worthy of the honour. It can be a goal for one of our national teams or one for the player's club.

I'll take a shot at another goal, scored by the one and only Simeon Jackson against Ukraine. It isn't necessarily the greatest, but he did it against a fricken European powerhouse in a cheeky manner, which really paved the way to what could have been three points but ended up as a respectable draw away from home.

I'm not convinced that Jackson intended that as a shot. It sure looked good though.

I've always been partial to the great team goal (multiple-pass buildup leading to scoring play). Think Canada v Guatemala at Gold Cup 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gLxGgvEa8F0#t=257s). The Hutchinson goal vs Ukraine was also a great team goal, with good combination between Simpson and Hutch.

Left foot snap shot bends over and around the keeper from 25 yards to strike the up-right and go in drawing level in the waning minutes against Brazil.

Yeah, good luck topping that one anytime soon.

(Have to say I loved that McCallum goal, sketchy defending and all. Dramatic stuff).

I know right?

That's the end of the thread, in only 5 posts.

Yeah that was loco. The three interesting parts about the shot are:

1) I don't believe after crossing center 12 seconds earlier did she ever look at the net. That's a pretty good sense of place.
2) She's right-footed.
3) It was in the 83rd minute, in Brazil, and turned silver into gold.

Sinclair almost scored the winner in the CONCACAF final a month ago with her left-foot as well but the Mexican keeper Vanegas made a pretty terrific stop.

Just because it was the winner, Kevin McKenna's goal vs Honduras in Montreal. Not the prettiest, but meaningful enough to me that it deserves recognition. Move to 2:27. This is a rough video, does anyone have a better one to up?

OK, how about another left-foot?

Fast-forward to 1:51

Sinclair's got this title wrapped up, no question.

But honourable mention definitely must go to Simeon Jackson's first goal for Norwich City, against Swansea in August. I can't find a clip anywhere, but anyone who saw it will remember it -- he beautifully volleyed a cross right into the net, off the crossbar.

I'd give it to Simeon's against Ukraine... just a ridiculous angle regardless of whether or not it was a cross

Yes, that goal was special. (Thanks for the hits btw)

I agree. Two superb goals.

It's definitely not THE best goal of the year, but how about a long distance strike from Ali G vs. Puerto Rico. (0:43)

And Issey certainly gave it his best effort. (1:17)

Good stuff but I think it was in a Canadian uniform... otherwise we're down to high school and youth club footage.

Yeah I've been trying to find that clip of Simeon's first for Norwich. I have seen a clip for it, but I can't find it again, it might have been in one of those Top Goals of the Week things that the FA puts together.

Just you wait 'til I bust out all my high school and youth vids...

I was actually going to nominate myself for one of my goals with Saskatoon Celtic this summer, but I'm starting to wonder if we shouldn't just break this into the two sections it probably should be: National Teams and Clubs.

He's always had a great, heavy shot from distance.
