Would it be good for women's football if the USA failed to qualify for the World Cup?

Yes, I know that the odds are very large that they will qualify, but what if Italy should happen to get a 2 - 1 win and advance on away goals.

I have a few opinions but will wait till we get a few responses.

A second question is: Would the USA failing to qualify be good for the Canadian women's soccer program?

Well, I guess that question is moot. Still the US must be a bit worried with a lose to Mexico and two 1-0 wins against Italy. Do they have any "friendlies" coming up to get their act together?
