In a wide ranging interview, CSL Commissioner, Cary Kaplan, joins It's Called Football to talk about CSL expansion, joining the CSA and where the CSL sees its role in Canadian soccer with the growth of MLS and USL-1. He also discusses the future of the league, drops how much a franchise costs and what hurdles remain for the league.

We also get into the continuing MLS ref debate (handball or not a handball), talk about league parity (5 draws over the weekend) and discuss who is for real in the Eastern Conference.

I enjoyed the show as well. I was thinking about sending you guys an e-mail to try and get more input from you guys about the CSL since it seemed for the longest time like the show revolved around MLS and USL only. Good to hear some discussion about the role of the CSL in the Canadian soccer landscape and the future of the CSL. I hope in future to also hear more about some of the Canadian PDL clubs; maybe interview someone from the Vancouver Highlanders and ask them about their plans to move up to USL-1 or something along those lines. Keep up the good work boys!
