Canada-Chile pre-game in TO; 4:30 @ Scallywags

Where is everyone going to meet before the Canada-Chile game? Canso has suggested the Foggy Dew at King & Tecumseh which seems reasonably near to the stadium. Is there any more convenient place that people will meet or should we meet there?

PS. Freekick, I am keeping my eye on the Indian blockade VIARail situation. As I said I have a non-refundable ticket but VIA has closed down the Montreal/Toronto line this Friday and if it continues to be closed on the weekend I might have to take you up on your offer to drive to TO.

The plan for the U-Sector guys is as follows:

Meet up at 4:30 at Scallywags (Yonge and St. Clair) for some drinks, and catch the first half of Scotland Japan.

At half time of the Scotland game, head down to the stadium. It will take about 30 minutes by public transit to get to the stadium from Scallywags. We want to be at BMO Field early to soak up the atmosphere of a Canada World Cup match on home soil.

Scallywags itself is not close to the stadium, but we chose it (for this game only) as it is a genuine soccer bar that everyone in the area is familiar with. We've tried every pub and bar within walking distance of the stadium, and all have been found lacking. The one we settled on was fine for the first few games of the season and then they made it clear that soccer fans were not going to be welcome in their establishment.

So Scallywags it is. For those of you who don't know where it is, it's located on St. Clair Avenue just east of Yonge. It is literally steps from the St. Clair subway station.

Some of us will be starting earlier than 4:30, so feel free to stop by.
