We'll be staying with friends in Arnprior. Just wondering what a taxi fare would to Frank Clair. Or is there transit? Maybe renting a car would be the best option? I know Arnprior is outside the city a bit?

heh, I grew up there till I was 15, I'd say it's too far to taxi, it's about 45 minutes to an hour drive I think.

edit: maybe that's a little long, just remembered it took 15 minutes to drive to arnprior and we were on the north of it, still its for sure more then 30 minutes.

Rent a car. Arnprior identifies itself with Ottawa but it is not a suburb in the sense that you can take public transportation or save money by taxi. You will spend far more by taxi than if you rent a car.

It would cost $20 to rent a car plus gas.Avis has one day rent fee of $20 all included.THat time of the summer it is going to be hard to get a taxi.

Definitely rent a car. It's just under 60 km away from downtown. However, they've extended the highway out there so the trip goes by pretty quickly (25 mins). Used to make the trip myself on a daily basis.

There's no buses in Ontario?

25 minute drive? That's about 20 miles?

Get a 10-speed.

There is a bus service from Arnprior to Ottawa but it is poor to say the least. One bus leaves Arnprior at around 6:30am and returns at 3:30pm. There is no real bus service (other then greyhound in some locations) in upper Ottawa valley or Eastern Ontario to Ottawa.
