Nope, Lyon plays Bordeaux in about 10 minutes, 1st vs. 2nd in Ligue 1, I'm much more pumped for that game then an overhyped game between two teams I don't even care for. I will however watch it just because of the food that comes with it.

Forgot about it until I saw your post, so thanks for reminding me not to turn on the tv today. The amount of marketing/media coverage/propaganda about this game is incredible especially considering there are no Canadian teams involved in this league. I guess some people here care about the NFL but I have been trying to ignore the hype for the last two weeks. At least we have gotten some financial benefit from the game this year as Americans visiting Detroit have been flocking accross the border to Windsor to visit our strip clubs and buy the Cuban cigars that their government forbids them from smoking.

If I had access to a TV, I would watch it - even though the Jets aren't playing. :(
BBC 5 Live is covering the game live, but I don't think I'll stay up to listen to it on radio.

The Super Bowl?
Is that some kind of giant, communal pot smoking ritual?

I think that's the Super Bong, but the confusion is natural considering the media hype behind both.
Now, on to more pressing questions ... are they showing the lingerie bowl again this year? Just curious.

Maybe no-one on the board cares. But the Super Bowl is HUGE. Outside of Stanley Cup play-offs it's the only other "BIG 4" North American championship that's on a regular broadcast channel (Global) in Canada even MLB and NBA get sent to cable channels. CFL maybe hugely popular in Canada, but it's not "BIG 4". Although I'd love to see a Grey Cup tv ratings vs Super Bowl in Canada.
Most bars have something special for Super Bowl and it's gotta be one of the best nights for pizza deliveries ;)
We that like soccer maybe are a little jealous of the support the traditional North American sports get and offer you emotional responses usually negative.
And yes to buddy who said Pittsburgh got all the calls......did they ever

The 'big game' yesterday was Chelsea - Liverpool. Feel bad for Reina, falling for those freaky deaky Dutch antics...

A little something I heard on the radio this AM. Apparentlly the Super Bowl had it's highest rating in 10 years with 4 million viewers in Canada and 91 million in the States.
