Martina Franko to join CNWT?

Canada's women's team is currently holding a training camp in Vancouver (today until March 19). Among the notable invitees is Martina Franko. Franko is an American-born striker with WUSA experience. She was the Whitecaps' leading scorer last year.

This will be her second camp with the Canadian national team. Rumour has it that she is just awaiting her citizenship to become an official member of the Canuck squad.

Martina Holan Franko has been a regular on the Surrey United women's premier division team playing in the the British Columbia based Metro Women's Soccer League for the past two years. The MWSL plays in the winter so no major conflict with summer leagues such as W-League.
