CALGARY(NB) - The cloud of the Storm has dissipated from atop the Calgary
soccer scene as an owner was found for the city's A-League club.
The flailing franchise had been without an owner for most of the 2003
A-League season.
"We're very proud of this announcement," said A-League Chairman David
Askinas. "We've always made a point of keeping our finger over the pulse of
Canadian soccer. This announcement shows that we have, indeed, succeeded at
this."
Askinas made the announcement to bid farewell to the club's troubled past.
He, however, holds no grudge against past ownership.
"Domo arigato, Mr Vandalo. Thank you very much, Mr. Vandalo, for doing the
job nobody wanted to."
