Carleton University is hosting the "Friendship Cup" soccer tournament. A number of colleges and universities will be participating, along with the W-League's Ottawa Fury.

RAVENS OPEN SOCCER SEASON WITH "FRIENDSHIP CUP" 11 TEAMS TO PLAY 18 MATCHES AT CARLETON THIS WEEKEND.

The Carleton University Ravens Men's and Women's Varsity Soccer teams KICK-OFF their 2003 season by hosting the First Annual "Friendship Cup". The Friendship Cup was created by the Men's Soccer Program based on the success Carleton had hosting the 2002 Canadian Interuniversity Sport Men's Soccer Championship last November (2002).

The Ravens Men's and Women's Soccer Teams have invited six CIS schools, one OCAA school and the W-League's Ottawa Fury Soccer Club to participated in this tear's event. The eleven-team tournament will run from Friday, August 29th until Monday, September 1, 2003. The matches will be played mostly in Keith Harris Stadium with the Raven Practice Field being used for five of the 18 matches.

Just for clarification it is the U16 girls plus one member of the women's team, Laura Harper playing in the Friendship Cup. The team opened with a 2-2 tie against Laurnetian and then picked up a 1-1 result against the hosts Carleton today. Details at www.ottawafury.com .
