Hey everyone!

As you may or may not know, I started a new pool for us before the Germany match. It was pretty popular considering it was the first time we tried it. My ultimate goal is to get every Voyageurs to participate.

The pool is pretty simple, it's prediction based. Here's what you have to do:

Pick Canada's:

First Goalscorer
In which minute
Method used to score (volley, free kick, penalty, etc).
First Canadian Carded player

Do the same for Canada's opponent

And pick a final score! Voila!

You can send your pick for the Costa Rica and Cuba games to my email address (mimglow@rogers.com), or you can post it in this thread.

You can then follow your results and other people's picks at http://members.rogers.com/mimglow/

You get one point for each correct pick. Make sure you check out how everybody fared in the first match at: http://members.rogers.com/mimglow/All-Time.htm

Finally, as soon as we know who Canada will face in the Quarters (think positive! [^]), you can send me those picks as well! I will be in Boston until after the Cuba game, and I will update the website as soon as I get home...

Come and play!

Hey everyone!

The picks have started to roll in! You can check out the status at http://members.rogers.com/mimglow/Voyageurs%20Start%20Page.htm

Also, I wanted to add a little note to the rules. If you want to post your picks here, no problem, but do not edit your response past Friday, July 11th at midnight for the Costa Rica match, and Sunday July 13th at midnight for the Cuba match (all times Eastern). All late picks will be null and void.

You can also send me your picks at mimglow@rogers.com

Come and play!

Pool F.A.Q.

Q:Can I say that no one scores for a team?

A: Yes. It will be put down as NONE. If in fact no one scores for that team, you only get a point for predicting no one would score, and not for method and time.

Q:How specific do I have to be in predicting the scoring method?

A:Keep it simple, you'll have a better chance at scoring points. Here is a list of simple methods:

Strike
Penalty
Header
Own Goal
Volley
Free Kick

There will be some leniancy towards your predictions. For example, if you predicted LOW SHOT, then you will get a point if it was scored on a strike, whether it was high or low.

Q:I wasn't aware there was a pool until now. I don't think it's fair that some people have a head start on me for the All-Time Records.

A:The pool will be treated much like if you were a player on the National Team. Although you might not participate in every match, if you perform your contribution will be noted. I intend for this pool to be around for years and years, and players will undoubtedly come and go.

We are approaching a deadline of sorts for this pool...

I am leaving for Boston on Friday morning, so tomorrow is your last day to send me your picks if you want them posted on the site with everybody else...

Of course, should you send me an email on Friday before Midnight, your picks will count but they won't be displayed on the Website until Tuesday evening when I return from Boston...

Thanks to all who have so far submitted picks, and for those of you who haven't...what are you waiting for???[:p]

Geezus, look at the time. Gotta type faster!

Canada-1 Costa Rica-1

Stalteri scores Canada's goal in the 35th minute on a strike during the run of play. Paul Fenwick of course gets Canada's FIRST card.

Forseca scores CR's goal in the 69th minute of a strike during the run of play. Wright well get CR's FIRST of many cards.

Ha. I was going to call 2-1 Canada but I just can't do it. Nerves you know. Very bad.

"Minority of one"

CND Goal McKenna, Header at 17 mins
