Congrats to the Canadian Women on an excellent showing against World #2 England in the final of the Churchill Cup on Sunday. It took 8 English points after a Canadian player had been sent off with 4 minutes left to squeak out a 21-18 victory. Of course, it is important to denigrate this accomplishment by suggesting that the English had superior skills, a better game plan and only the atleticism and fitness of the Canadian players kept the game close ;)

If I am not mistaken Canada were semi-finalists at the last Women's World Cup, beaten precisely by England in that match. Happened just up the hill from where I live. I think we took out Scotland along the way, do I have this right?

Yes that is right. The English trounced Canada in 2002 by 40 points.
