Ottawa, Ontario – Canada’s Women’s Under-19 Development Team were defeated 3-1 by US Youth Soccer on Saturday, May 31st at the adidas cup in Houston Texas, USA

US Youth player Tina Estrada opened the scoring with two quick goals in the 19th and 21st minutes before team mate Lindsey Beam scored in the 30th minute.

Canadian midfielder Brittany Timko scored Canada’s only goal of the game in the 34th minute.

Both teams were scoreless in the second half.

"This tournament has exposed our players to the challenges of international soccer. Some for the first time,” said head coach Ian Bridge.

“High level games, tough opposition and extreme playing conditions allowed me to see how players reacted when pushed to their limits. As I said before, the more games and tournaments like this that we can play the better."
